The most common question we get asked “is my pool leaking or is it evaporation?”

The best way to determine if you have a leak is to do conduct a leak test.

The easiest way to perform a leak test is to measure the water loss over a 24Hour period beginning and ending at the same time.

Example:

Step 1: Fill the pool half way up the skimmer face. When it’s filled, mark the water line with a piece of tape or a pen and note down the time you do so.

Step 2: Come back the following day at the same time (this being 24hrs later) and measure with a measuring tape. Write the loss on a piece of paper for a later date.

If you find that the pool has lost more that a 1/4 inch over 24hrs then you more than likely have a pool leak.

We use a combination of electronic leak detection equipment and old fashioned dye testing to find swimming pool leaks.
